LDF government is on track to serve a historic second term in office

Following the completion of the six four hours of vote counting, indications are that the LDF will continue to rule in Kerala.

As of 2 pm, LDF took lead in 96 seats, UDF in 43 seats and NDA in 1 seats. The Left Democratic party is leading in more than 10 districts in Kerala.

For the first time in four decades, Kerala will see a party continue in power for a second term. In 2011, V S Achuthanandan lost his second term of governing for just 4 seats, but this time, Pinarayi Vijayan is all set to lead the state for another five years.

TP Ramakrishnan of CPIM won the Perambra constituency, becoming the first candidate to register victory in Kerala.

UDF candidate Mani C. Kappan has defeated Jose K Mani in the Pala constituency by more than 13,000 votes.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has a lead of over 47,000 votes, the largest so far, while Minister for Health K. K. Shailaja has a lead of over 46000 votes in Mattanur.

As the vote count is coming towards the end, many constituency is having photo finish.
