How does COVID-19 spread in Ireland? The importance of public health guidelines is illustrated graphically by a health expert

DUBLIN: COVID cases are increasing day by day but there are still people who do not care about it. These people act with the confidence that virus will not infect them, that it will only affect others. COVID Graphics, directed by Mid-West public health Director Mai Mannix, is sure to convince such people the importance of public health guidelines.

This illustration, which simply reveals how COVID multiplies, will shock anyone. It also deeply emphasizes the importance of maintaining a social distance of two meters. This portrays exactly how one infection is going to develop into the next 29. The graphics also warn that a little carelessness can lead to great danger.

This graphics were created in accordance with the alarming rise in COVID-19 cases in Co. Clare, where there was a dramatic increase in the transmission of the virus, from 70.7 to 244.9 per 100,000 within 14 days.

One person in the Midwest was affected by COVID-19, but he did not know it. The virus spread to 16 members of his family and relatives. Although they are in different houses, they are in close contact with each other.

One of these 17 cases went to their workplace and gave COVID to three different people. Another attended the funeral, which turned many into COVID patients. One of those who attended the funeral carried the virus to his family. Someone in that family gave it to two people in his workplace.

If any one of them had break this COVID chain, the disease would not have spread so much. Dr. Mannix pointed out that the COVID-19 network would not have lasted if the virus preventive measures had been properly followed.

There are so many COVID patients who is asymptomatic. They unknowingly become the virus carriers. That is where the importance maintaining social distance comes into play. Through washing our hands frequently and using face masks, we can keep the virus at bay, also by covering the face when coughing and sneezing.

According to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC), the rate of infection in Clare was 70% per 100,000 between September 17 and September 30. It was 41% in Limerick and 30.7% in Tipperary during the same period.

Since September 26, there has been a COVID outbreak in Clare. In the 14 days to October 9, the infection rate was 244.0%. With this, the COVID-19 cases in Claire rose to a new level. Claire’s 14-day growth rate is four times that of Tipperary. Tipperary still has 66.4%.

Health experts strictly reminds you to stay isolated in your own room if you are infected with COVID-19. You should not have any contact with others. It is understood that people are tired of the restrictions. We may have to live with COVID-19 for at least a year. However, if contact is not limited, there will be great consequences, Dr. Mannix reminded.
