Recruitment Opens for Foreign Drivers in Ireland’s Public Transport Services

Dublin: Recruitment has officially begun for foreign drivers to join government-run public transport services in Ireland. Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus are now accepting applications from qualified candidates abroad as part of their ongoing driver intake programme.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a residency card and a Category D driving licence issued by any European country; or
  • Hold a Category D driving licence while currently residing in Ireland
  • Submit copies of:
    • Residency card
    • Passport
    • Category D driving licence
    • Tachograph card

Salary and Benefits

Successful candidates will receive:

  • 39-hour work week (shift-based)
  • Weekly salary between €829 and €960
  • Overtime allowances
  • Pension benefits starting from the second year

  • All other government-approved benefits
  • Family reunification eligibility after one year
