Colder, Unsettled Weather to Persist Across Ireland This Week

Dublin: Ireland is set for a spell of unsettled and colder-than-average weather this week, with rain, low nighttime temperatures, and the risk of thunderstorms, according to Met Éireann.

Forecasters have warned that nighttime temperatures could fall as low as -1°C in some areas, with showers and occasional thunderstorms expected. Weather analyst Alan O’Reilly noted that conditions over the next 10 days are likely to remain below seasonal norms.

Monday will begin with spells of sunshine but will turn increasingly cloudy as the day progresses. Rain is expected to develop across parts of the country, becoming heavier by the afternoon. Thunderstorms may occur in isolated areas, while the northwest could see sleet or snow.

On Tuesday, conditions will be relatively milder, with temperatures ranging between 11°C and 15°C in some areas. While the north and east may experience dry and bright spells early in the day, cloud cover is expected to increase later, bringing further outbreaks of rain.

This unsettled pattern is forecast to continue into Wednesday, with humid and breezy conditions prevailing. Periods of rain, drizzle, and reduced visibility due to fog are likely, particularly in coastal and hilly regions.
