Dublin: Eli Lilly has announced a further $1 billion investment in its Limerick manufacturing site, bringing total investment to $2 billion. The facility, still under construction, will boost the production of active ingredients for Alzheimer’s treatments. This expansion, supported by IDA Ireland, will create 150 new jobs, increasing the workforce to 450 when operations begin in 2026.
Eli Lilly’s latest investment is part of its broader $20 billion global expansion since 2020. Additionally, the company revealed an $800 million expansion in Kinsale for obesity and diabetes treatments. Minister Peter Burke praised the developments for their impact on job creation and global healthcare.
