Hollister Announces €80M Investment and 50 New Jobs in Ballina
Dublin: US healthcare company Hollister Incorporated has announced an €80 million investment in research and development and digital transformation at its Ballina facility, creating approximately 50 new jobs.
The initiative will position the Mayo site as a global centre of excellence in medical device design and digital innovation, supporting Hollister’s global operations. The company, which has operated in Ballina since 1976 and currently employs nearly 1,000 people, is recruiting for roles in engineering, data science, and business services.
Shane Caher, Hollister’s senior director and general manager, said the investment reflects the company’s commitment to innovation and enhancing patient care.
IDA Ireland CEO Michael Lohan praised Hollister’s long-term investment in Ireland, aligning with the agency’s strategy for sustainable growth. Minister of State Alan Dillon also welcomed the announcement, calling it a strong endorsement of Ballina’s skilled workforce and Ireland’s leadership in healthcare manufacturing.
