IBM to Create 75 High-Tech R&D Jobs in Waterford Over Three Years
Dublin: IBM has announced plans to hire up to 75 software engineers in Waterford over the next three years, strengthening its research and development capabilities in Ireland.
The new roles will focus on the development of IBM Z mainframe technologies, including processor and firmware design, software engineering, and advancing the Linux operating system.
IBM also plans to expand its collaboration with South East Technical University to develop a specialised skills pipeline for mainframe and Linux technologies.
Welcoming the announcement, Ministers Jack Chambers and Peter Burke highlighted the move as a vote of confidence in Ireland’s talent and regional innovation hubs.
The investment aligns with IDA Ireland’s new five-year strategy, which aims to position the country as a leader in global technological innovation.
