Nua Healthcare Opens New Mental Health Facility in Meath, Creating 300 Jobs
Meath: Nua Healthcare has launched a new state-of-the-art mental healthcare facility in Gormanston, County Meath, which will create 300 new jobs across various roles, including psychiatric nurses, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, and healthcare assistants. Additionally, the facility will employ security officers, housekeeping staff, and chefs to support its operations.
Established in 2004, Nua Healthcare operates over 100 facilities nationwide, employing more than 3,000 professionals. The new Gormanston centre, which has already begun admitting patients, will accept referrals from six HSE areas and currently offers 50 beds, with plans for future expansion, according to Noel Dunne, CEO of Nua Healthcare.
A Specialist Approach to Mental Healthcare
The newly registered facility will focus on specialist rehabilitation and recovery-oriented mental health care, providing a step-down service for patients transitioning from acute hospital settings. It was officially registered with the Mental Health Commission last month.
Nua Healthcare delivers a comprehensive range of services, including residential care, community outreach, and supported living for both adults and children with complex healthcare needs such as intellectual disabilities, mental health conditions, and brain injuries.
The Gormanston centre aligns with national healthcare policies, including Sláintecare and Sharing the Vision, underscoring Nua Healthcare’s commitment to advancing specialist mental health services in Ireland.
