358 more COVID-19 cases confirmed in Ireland yesterday

DUBLIN: The Department of Health has confirmed that 358 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Ireland.

The Department shared the latest figures on Twitter this evening, and it also confirmed that daily case numbers may alter due to future data validation.

Currently, 102 COVID-19 patients are being treated in hospitals, of which 39 are in intensive care unit.

Data on the number of people who have died from COVID-19, as well as case numbers by county, have not been published since the HSE and the Department of Health were subjected to a cyber-attack last Friday.

COVID-19 test results are reported from laboratories to the HSE’s contact management programme.

The cyber-attack had no impact on the vaccination program or the functioning of the vaccination portal. Registration for 45-49 year olds will start from today.
