A security guard who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl has been jailed for five years

Dublin: A security guard who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl was jailed for five years by the Dublin court. Abdul Rahman Mohammed (35) from Mountjoy Square, Dublin, was convicted for the sexual assault that took place in Dundrum shopping centre a year and a half ago. He was also accused of trying to extort money by threatening to be put in jail.

The girl was harassed by a security guard for stealing a face mask and makeup brush from a penney’s shop.

The incident in question took place on December 4, 2022. The child was shopping with friends at Penney’s in Dundrum Shopping Centre. Meanwhile, he took out the makeup brush and face mask from the jacket. When the child was about to leave, Abdul Rahman Mohammed stopped the child and took her to a room where she was the only one. He told the child that those in the group would also get into trouble and that she should ask them to leave the place.

He took off her underwear and checked it, saying that she had hidden more things. He demanded 250 euros to keep the incident public. Neither she nor her friends had any money. Then one of them went to Penney’s and told them the information. They got the reply that they do not have to pay the security for taking the goods from the shop.

Mohammed pleaded not guilty but was convicted by a jury in February. He alleged that the girl and her friends were following him. However, the court took the child’s statement and sent him to jail. The court was convinced that the incident had caused fear and depression in the child.
