Barbie has surpassed €8m at the Irish box office…

The Irish box office for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie has topped €8 million, a milestone that has only been broken twice before. Titanic in 1998, followed by Avatar in 2009.
Barbie has earned €8,205,359 in Ireland since its July 21 premiere. In comparison, the Irish box office grossed €8,253,258 for the 1998 film Titanic. The Margot Robbie-led film has been at the top of the box office top ten for the month since its debut, and it has the potential to break Avatar’s record of €8,702,770.

The picture is shattering records worldwide, grossing more than €1.2 billion, surpassing The Dark Knight as Warner Bros.’ most commercially successful film.
