Boeing plans to cut its workforce by around 2,000 finance and HR jobs in 2023

Boeing plans to cut its workforce in the aerospace company’s finance and human resources divisions by 2,000 jobs in 2023, according to the company.

“We anticipate around 2,000 reductions, largely in finance and human resources, through a combination of attrition and layoffs.” Boeing made a statement. “Although no one has been told of job losses, we will continue to communicate information in an open manner so that people may plan.”

The firm, which just relocated its headquarters to Arlington, Virginia, stated that it expected its entire personnel to “substantially increase” this year. “We increased Boeing’s personnel by 15,000 last year and expect to add another 10,000 this year, with a concentration on engineering and manufacturing,” the company stated in a statement.

Boeing reported a total workforce of 156,000 people as of December 31, 2022.

According to the Times, around 1,500 of the company’s approximately 5,800 financial roles would be eliminated, with up to 400 additional job cutbacks in human resources, or nearly 15% of the department’s entire staff.
