British scientists say vaccines are ineffective against the South African variant of Coronavirus

London: The Covid vaccines currently being developed are found to be ineffective against the new strain of the virus found in South Africa.

ITV editor Robert Peston said on Monday that one of the British government’s scientific advisers had mentioned the matter.

Concerns about a new variant of the coronavirus were also shared by British Health Secretary Matt Hancock on Monday. Robert Peston said Hancock was concerned about the effectiveness of the vaccine against the new virus in South Africa.

Scientists suggest that vaccines are effective against the British variant.

With the discovery of new corona variants in the UK and South Africa, Covid has raised concerns globally about the growing number of infected people.

The finding is that genetically modified coronavirus may be more severely affected. In addition, the rapid spread of the new strain raises concerns about the new virus.

Professor John Bell of the Department of Medicine at Oxford University said Sunday that the Covid vaccine is not effective against the South African variant. He added that it would take a month or six weeks to get the new vaccine.
