Campaign Kickoff: Call for Government Housing Scheme for Health Workers in Ireland

Dublin: The call for a government housing scheme to address the housing needs of healthcare workers in Ireland is gaining momentum, with Health Care Professionals Ireland spearheading an online petition and the Ballinasloe Indian Association initiating a campaign.

The petition, directed to high-ranking officials, including Minister of Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys, emphasises the crucial role played by healthcare workers from overseas in Ireland’s healthcare system. Despite their dedication, many of these professionals are facing dire housing situations, which significantly impact their well-being and ability to effectively carry out their duties.
