COVID-19: 13 deaths and 1269 cases confirmed in Ireland

New 1,269 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Ireland today. Further 13 deaths have been reported by the health department.

The total number of cases in Ireland rose to 52,256. The death toll from COVID-19 in Ireland remains at 1,865.  

This is the highest daily death toll from Covid-19 since 27 May.

Of the cases confirmed today,

  • 657 are men and 609 are women
  • 63% are under 45 years of age
  • Median age is 34

Today, more cases were confirmed in Meath than in Dublin. 221 cases in Meath and 203 cases in the capital have been confirmed. Of the remaining cases, 116 are in Cork, 80 are in Cavan and the remaining 649 are spread across all remaining counties. 

There are 312 COvid-19 patients in hospital, with 34 in ICU. An additional 13 hospitalisations have been made in the last 24 hours.
