Dublin City Council considers setting up a memorial to those who died from COVID-19

DUBLIN: Dublin City Council is considering a proposal to install a memorial to those who died from corona virus in Ireland.

The proposal for a permanent memorial was requested by Councillor Pat Dunne. Cllr. Dunne says it is important to have something that reminds people in the future about the situations that everyone has been through and is still going through.

As a start, Mr. Dunne requested the Dublin City Council to install a permanent memorial in the Kimmage-Rathmines area. But he said it is important to have such memorials in every area.

“Not just to commemorate those who have unfortunately passed away as a result of the Covid-19 virus but also to remind future generations how fragile public health can be at times,” Mr. Dunne added.
