Gardai says there are enough reasons to believe that Seema Banu was murdered; investigation continues energetic

DUBLIN: A major turning point in the tragedy at the home at the Llewellyn Court in Ballinteer, Dublin. The post-mortem report points to the fact that Seema Banu was murdered by someone, Garda said.

There are many suspicious circumstances surrounding Seema’s death, which is why Garda is not yet ready to close the case by stating that she committed suicide after killing her children.

Gardai has not yet been able to gather enough evidence to prove the murder, but they are working hard to do so. They are conducting a thorough investigation into all the evidence, large and small. Postmortem evidence and circumstantial evidence alone are not enough to prove murder.

Detectives on the murder investigation team are studying Seema Banu’s life in depth. They’re analysing all the events of the last weeks and months of her life. They also decided to interview her friends and family in India. All kinds of threats and incidents, including allegations of assault in the past, are being reviewed. Gardai focuses on determining who visited the home at the time of the death of Seema Banu and her children, with CCTV and phone records being reviewed.

A postmortem revealed that Ms. Banu (37) died as a result of ligature around her neck. But it was not determined if she took her own life or was murdered. It was confirmed earlier that her son Faizan Syed (6) and daughter Asfira Riza (11) were killed. The three were found dead inside the house on October 28. The incident came to light a few days after their death.

The Gardai said they were conducting a murder investigation into all the circumstances of the events. Garda investigators said it was a murder case, based on circumstantial evidence. Gardai said all the evidence obtained was contextual and therefore needed to prove how Seema Banu and her children died, for which an investigation was underway.
