Only essential workers allowed to take part in driving tests during Level 5, said RSA

In the context of Level 5 restrictions, the Road Safety Authority has asked people to stay away from driving tests, if they are not an essential worker.

The RSA does not keep job descriptions of applicants, so people are asked to determine for themselves whether they fall into this category or not.

The agency asks people who stays out of this category to cancel their slot of appointment for the next six weeks and thus essential workers can be allotted to that space for online test.

Essential workers who haven’t given a test appointment can apply online through [email protected].

Essential workers are allowed to travel to driving tests in accordance with Level 5 regulations, but are asked to bring proof of appointment and this need to be produced if the gardaí asks.

Similarly, the RSA has made it clear that only essential workers will participate in NDLS appointments, which is deemed as necessary.

National Car Tests and Commercial Vehicle Road Eligibility Tests are considered essential services and thus, they can run under Level 5.

Anyone with an appointment or retest should attend as usual, but they should alos remember that cash payments will not be accepted.
