DUBLIN: Sinn Féin is still the most popular political party in Ireland, despite a slight drop in support, according to a new poll. Mary Lou McDonald’s party received 30% support, down from 32% in December.
The Sunday Times/Behaviour and Attitudes survey has found that Leo Varadkar’s Fine Gael has received 28% support, a rise of one percent, while Taoiseach Martin’s Fianna Fáil has remained unchanged at 22%.
The Green Party is up two points to 5%, while Labour is down one to 4%.
Solidarity/People Before Profit is down two points to one point, while the Social Democrats are up one point to two points.
While Aont remains at zero points, Independent/others are on eight points (up one).
Meanwhile, Taoiseach Micheál Martin’s popularity has risen by six points, tying him with Leo Varadkar and Mary Lou McDonald on 49%.
The poll was conducted among 914 eligible Irish voters aged 18 and above between May 4 and May 18.
