The worst flood Wexford had ever seen

Wexford: Heavy rains and flooding have caused havoc in North Wexford. A large number of vehicles were submerged in water. Many areas of the Gorey region were submerged due to heavy floods. Thirty vehicles were recovered by the recovery service.

The flood occurred on Thursday evening. There were 16 roads in the area that were flooded. Five of them were completely blocked, including the highway and three regional roads. After a lengthy rescue operation that lasted until two a.m., the situation was brought under control.

In the worst-affected areas, emergency personnel conducted rescue operations. Employees of local garages rescued motorists and cars elsewhere. Eight local garage trucks were on the road, and 30 cars were recovered. The majority of these were 2021 models. Children were found trapped in some vehicles. It was difficult to save them. “Many vehicles could not be rescued because of the flood,” said the rescue workers.

Rescuers claim it was the worst flood in Wexford’s history. There was also a major flood last Christmas. Between Christmas Day and Stephen’s Day, 48 cars were stuck in water in Kilmore Quay, Gorey, and Wexford.
