Women’s World Boxing Championships: ‘Golden Girls’ Made India proud on the World Stage

Nikhat Zareen and Lovlina Borgohain led India to victory in the Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi on Sunday. Although Nikhat Zareen won gold in the 50kg category, Lovlina Borgohain took gold in the 75kg division. Nikhat Zareen won the final battle 5-0 against Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Tam to capture India’s third gold medal in the event, while Lovlina Borgohain won the final 5-2 over Australia’s Caitlin Parker. Nitu Ghanghas (48kg) and Saweety Boora (81kg) of India won gold in their respective weight categories on Saturday.
