30 jobs in new Ballyhaunis store

Aldi Ireland is planning to build a new store in Ballyhaunis in Co Mayo which will offer 30 jobs.

With the construction of the proposed new store 50 jobs will also be created. In order to build the new 1,315m² store Aldi has decided to buy the centrally located nine-acre green field site on Main Street in the town centre.

The new store will be environment-friendly as it will install solar panels on the roof and will be powered by 100% green electricity.

Aldi already has four stores in Co Mayo, with the most recent store opening in Belmullet in August of this year.

Aldi is also planning to open a store in Ballina and the company’s existing stores are located in Castlebar, Claremorris and Ballinrobe.

Over 4,500 people are employed under Aldi and  it operates a network of 145 stores across the country, with stores in each county in the Republic of Ireland.
