America will have a ‘Irish-Indian mind’ from now on!

WASHINGTON: Today marks the historic moment when Joe Biden will be sworn in as President of the United States.

When the Indo-American community, which makes up only one per cent of the country, gets recognition through Kamala Harris, President Biden comes from a purely Irish gene. The Irish, who make up about 10% of the population who have been making a significant contribution to American culture for centuries, can certainly be proud to have a ‘Irish gene’ in the White House.

Joseph Robinette Biden is set to become the oldest president in American history. When Biden becomes America’s 46th President, the world is anxiously awaiting the United States. Having served in public for half a century and twice as Vice President of the United States, the expectations are high when the experienced Biden becomes President.

New President Joe Biden has announced that orders revoking Donald Trump’s controversial decisions will be issued on the first day.

Kamala Harris

It has been a century since women got the right to vote in the United States. No one from the United States has risen to the ranks of the women leaders who led the nation, such as Margaret Thatcher, Sirimavo Bandaranaike, Indira Gandhi and Benazir Bhutto. In the struggle for the ruling position of the country, women were often rejected or failed to win.

Joe Biden unexpectedly nominated Kamala Harris of Indian descent for the post of Vice President. Kamala Harris is currently a senator in California. Kamala Harris is also the first Asian-American to run for the US presidency.

In 2003, at the age of 27, she was elected District Attorney of San Francisco. In 2010, she became Attorney General of California. In 2016, she defeated Loretta Sanchez to become a senator in California. Kamala went down in history as the third woman senator and the first woman of Indian descent.

Kamala Harris supported health care reform, the path to citizenship for immigrants, the Dream Act, the ban on assault weapons and tax reform. Ten candidates have been nominated for the US vice presidency before Kamala. However, the world is eagerly awaiting what change the representation of a woman in one of the most powerful nations in the world will bring!
