Heavy rain and wind in south western counties today; Met Eireann with caution warning

Dublin: Heavy rain and wind are expected in Ireland’s south-west counties today. Some areas have also received a yellow alert due to the possibility of flooding. The rain is expected to become heavier in the afternoon.

The weather will be clear beginning this morning, followed by rain. A strong cloud will form in the south by one o’clock in the afternoon. Heavy rain will occur in the afternoon. By evening, rain will spread to the northeast. In the evening, rain and wind will become more intense in the west and south-west. Rain will fall throughout the region, including Munster and Connecticut.

People in Kerry, Limerick, Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo should be cautious tonight, according to the weather warning. At 10 p.m. tonight, winds will average 50 to 65 km/h with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h. The warning will be in effect until the following morning.
