House for sale in Limerick city; the cheapest home was not sold at auction

It is noteworthy that in Ireland, where housing shortages are extreme, there were no one to bid for the most affordable house in general that has been auctioned online.

At Hyde Road in Limerick city the fixer-upper failed with auctions starting at €20,000.

A BidX1 representative who managed the property auction reported there were no bids on the site.

He said on September it’s expected to be sold, but anyone interested could bid earlier.

The home at 112 Hyde Road has come multiple times on the market but only very few enquiries were there. It could take more than ten thousand euros to get the home up to standard.

The sources said the home caused extensive damage including to the tiles and roof.

Property sales website www.daft.ie reveals that there is now another home on the market in County Donegal for €20,000 or less.

Currently the average house price in Ireland is €253,868.
