Lamine Yamal Eyes Nations League Glory Against Ronaldo-Led Portugal

Spain’s teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal expressed his determination to win the UEFA Nations League title and is eager for the challenge of facing Cristiano Ronaldo in the final. Yamal, who netted twice in Spain’s dramatic 5-4 semi-final victory over France, called the upcoming clash with Portugal “a special game” and an opportunity to prove himself against top opposition.

Acknowledging Ronaldo as a “football legend”, the 17-year-old forward emphasised his respect for the Portuguese star but remained focused on his mission: “I will do my job, which is to try to win.”

Reflecting on the France match, Yamal credited their world-class players for making Spain fight until the end, despite a commanding lead. Looking ahead to the June 8 final, he said, “Both teams have world-class talent. The best will win—I hope to bring the cup home to Spain.”
