3000 Covid related deaths reported in US within 24 hours

The United States yesterday recorded the highest daily toll of Covid death since April. As per the findings of the Johns Hopkins University tally, within a span of 24 hours, there were more than 3000 Covid deaths.

US authorities had already expected and warned about a sudden hike in Covid spread and death. This was because last month many people traveled around the country for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The country had recorded a total of 289,188 Covid deaths as of Irish time 1:30am today. Last 24 hours has contributed 3,071 numbers to the total death numbers and 220,481 new Covid cases was also registered.

As per the Covid Tracking Project California recorded the highest 24 hour tally in a US state, with 30,000 new cases yesterday. Right now, there are 106,000 patients hospitalized in the US.

Today, experts will hold a meeting to examine the Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine. In the coming days, these vaccines would be giving emergency authorization.
