New leadership for INMO

Karen McGowan, an advanced nurse practitioner at Beaumont Hospital, has been elected the new president of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organization (INMO), an organization of nurses in Ireland.

Karen McGowan, a graduate of DCU, works as an advanced nurse practitioner in the emergency department of Beaumont Hospital.

She is an INMO representative from Beaumont and has been a member of the union’s executive council for four years. She is also an excellent Irish speaker.

Karen took over from outgoing INMO president Martina Harkin-Kelly yesterday.

Eilish Fitzgerald (First Vice President) and Kathryn Courtney  (Second Vice President) are the other trustees.
