No new COVID deaths were reported in Ireland yesterday; further 384 cases registered
DUBLIN: The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) reports that 384 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed yesterday in Ireland.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 226,741.
The Health Department has stated that no new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported in the country. So the death toll from COVID-19 remains 4,535.
Of the cases confirmed yesterday,
● 195 are men and 187 are women
● 73% are under 45 years of age
● The median age is 31 years old
145 cases were registered in Dublin, 41 in Kildare, 37 in Offaly, 29 in Galway, 24 in Cork and the remaining 108 cases are spread across 17 other counties. Sligo, Kawan, Kilkenny and Lightrim have not reported any new cases yesterday.
As of yesterday morning, 349 COVID-19 patients were hospitalised, with 86 in ICU.
The 14-day incidence rate in Ireland is currently 150.7 cases per 100,000 people, with the highest incidence rate in Offaly, 386.1, 371.9.
As of 11 March, 589,512 doses of the vaccine were administered in Ireland. Of these, 426,819 people received their first dose and 162,693 received their second dose.
