Co Kerry nursing home under the threat of Covid outbreak

Co Kerry nursing home has reported a Covid-19 outbreak. It is reported that some of the staffs at Oceanview Nursing Home are infected by Covid 19.

A spokesperson for the company, which operates the nursing home, said that the situation is under control.

“As part of our fortnightly staff serial testing, we have been advised that a number of staff have tested positive for Covid-19. We are in ongoing contact with the HSE and Department of Public Health and have notified HIQA.” he said. 

The spokesperson said that they have enacted our contingency plan and are currently testing all our residents.

“Our primary focus is on our residents and are keeping our residents’ relatives informed at all times. We continue to actively manage the situation,” the spokesperson added. 

The HSE has announced that the Cork Kerry Community Healthcare Organisation is following up the issue and will provide necessary support to manage the outbreak.

An Outbreak Control Team has been established by the HSE. This team is providing necessary advises and guidance to bring the outbreak under control.
