Efforts are underway to repatriate the body of Suneeth Sreekumar, an Indian who died in Ireland

DUBLIN: Efforts to carry the body of Suneeth Sreekumar, a software engineer who died in Dublin on Friday night for burial in India, are underway. The initial conclusion of the medical team was that SK Suneeth (46), the technical director of Brown Bag Films in Dublin, may have died of a Cardiac arrest.

Sources close to the family said that arrangements for the repatriation of the body would begin only after the post-mortem. Suneeth’s family and friends are hoping to be able to post – more tomorrow (Tuesday).

Suneeth is the only son of retired VSSC engineer KN Sreekumar and MS Jayasree of Sreelayam House, EVRA 52, Jagathy, Kochar Road, Trivandrum, Kerala, India.

Wife: Preethi Suneeth is a native of Varkala, Kerala.

His children, 9-year-old Shraddha (Sreekutty) and 5-year-old Ishan, are students at the Pelletstown Educate Together National School.

Suneeth was in critical condition around 11.30 pm on Friday.His wife Preethi immediately rushed to the house of a nearby Keralite and informed him.An ambulance was called but they took around half an hour to arrive at the scene. CPR was already being given as per the instructions of the medical team. But his death had been confirmed by the time the ambulance team arrived.

The body was taken to James Connolly Hospital and later transferred to the Whitehall Mortuary.

Attempts are being made to perform the postmortem today, but it is likely to be postponed to tomorrow due to the many tests that were postponed during Halloween. The Indian Embassy has also intervened in the incident to resolve technical issues and facilitate the process.

Colleagues could not tolerate the death of their dear friend

Colleagues are shocked by the unexpected death of Suneeth, who was very friendly to all. Suneeth was the technical director of Brown Bag Films, a leading entertainment company in Dublin.

Brown Bag Films is a company that does projects for world-class companies, including Disney. His service was very proficient as the technical director of Brown Bag Films, which has even been nominated for several Oscars.

Suneeth was one of the best employees of the company spread across various parts of the world.

There are also a few Indians working in Suneeth’s office in Dublin. His colleague Sreejith told the ‘Irish Samachar’ that he could not yet comprehend the fact that their ‘beloved Sunithettan’ is no more.

The company is arranging the expenses for the repatriation of the body. The company has also made arrangements to send another Keralite employee to home with his family.

The Brown Bag Films group is deeply saddened by the demise of Suneeth, one of the most talented employees in their company.

Today, all the employees of the company observed a minute of silence in memory of Suneeth.

The company has also opened a condolence book to pay tribute to him.

“Suneeth was a true gentleman and great team player but most of all a good friend to everyone that knew him at Brown Bag Films. Suneeth was never without a big smile,” company’s managing director, Cathal Gaffnry said.

Suneeth, who was very interested in cricket, has long been a member of the company’s Social committee. He was also the organiser of the company’s social activities.

The Managing Director recalled that Suneeth, who had many years of experience, had been instrumental in several pipeline projects and productions across Dublin and Bali.
