Man died in a vehicle crash in Co Meath

A man was killed in a vehicle crash yesterday evening in Co Meath. It was a single-vehicle crash.

The incident happened at the Nine Mile Stone roundabout near Ashbourne, around 7:30 pm.

A man in his late 40s was pronounced death at the scene itself, he was the sole occupant of the van.

The post mortem will be carried out at Our Lady’s Hospital Navan. His remains have been removed to the hospital’s mortuary.

The van met with an accident and as a result of the crash it caught fire. The blazing van was brought under control by the fire and emergency services. The technical team has examined the scene.

The rod had fully reopened and the transportation has been restored. The investigations are still progressing.
