Quarantine is no longer mandatory in India if you have COVID negative certificate

Those who come from abroad with RTPCR test and a negative certificate no longer need an institutional quarantine in India. The Ministry of Health has issued new guidelines on the COVID Protocol.

Foreigners are required to undergo an RTPCR test within 72 hours of departure. If the result is negative, quarantine is not required when returning home.

Those who arrive in the country without undergoing the RTPCR test can be checked at the convenient airports. Those who are negative in this test will also be exempted from institutional quarantine.

The revised COVID protocol of the Ministry of Health states that in the absence of a negative RTPCR certificate, the institutional quarantine is subject to seven days and the home quarantine for the next seven days.

Pregnancy, family death, serious illness, emergency travel with parents and ten-year-old children can be traveled without a negative certificate. But for them, quarantine is mandatory for 14 days.

The protocol also stipulates that recipients of quarantine exemption must monitor their health for the next 14 days.
