Virgin Mobile offers unlimited data till July 18 for all customers

DUBLIN: Virgin Mobile is coming up with an unlimited data offer for all users in the days of COVID pandemic. This Virgin Mobile offer would be a great relief for those who are bored at home during this lockdown period. Virgin Mobile is offering unlimited access to data on both its plans till July 18.

The company has announced that it will be removing data limits for all customers, including those on its 80GB per month unlimited plan.

There has been a huge increase in smartphone usage last year following the imposition of restrictions. This is because people have been working from home and the school has also been closed.

Mobile data usage on the Virgin mobile network is estimated to have increased by 47%. Domestic call usage among Virgin Mobile customers increased by 34% last year.

In 2020, a total of 48 million text messages have been sent to the network. January was the busiest month on the network.

“With the removal of any sort of data caps for our Virgin Mobile customers, today’s announcement should really help those who have come to rely on their phones to stay connected,” Virgin Media vice president of commercial Paul Higgins said.

“The removal of the data limits and Fair Usage Policy from our mobile plans means you don’t have to worry about using up all your data on video calls, streaming apps or web browsing while we all do our best to stay at home,” he added.

Mr. Higgins also said that Virgin Broadband customers increased their usage by 84% in December.
