The INMO warns that Ireland’s health-care sector is insecure

Dublin: INMO has warned that hospitals and health systems in Ireland are extremely unsafe in the context of the spread of COVID. Because of the spread of COVID-19, hospitals have become dangerous places for both patients and staff. At the same time, INMO expressed concern about the government’s attitude, as if the epidemic had ended.

According to INMO General Secretary Phil Ni Sheaghdha, the growing number of COVID cases demonstrate that hospitals are not safe. Right now, there is an extraordinary war going on in hospitals and healthcare facilities. The government is blind to this. The important thing to remember is that the pandemic is far from over.

All of Ireland’s hospital staff have complained to trade unions about their safety. Thousands of cases of COVID have been reported in recent days. The total number of hospitals has risen to 1,500. HSE figures confirm this. She stated that the HSE and the government should do more.

She believes that simple steps such as increasing mask use should be the primary means of reducing COVID’s spread.
