Weather Updates: Experts warn of sudden climate change in Ireland

Dublin: Experts warn that sudden weather changes may occur in the middle of this month. Carlow Weather’s Alan O’Reilly predicts a Sudden Stratospheric Warming (SSW) by the middle of this month. The most of of his weather predictions come true.

An SSW is caused by a buildup of heat in the stratosphere. It is also a factor that greatly affects the climate. Weather phenomena such as the Breeze from the East in 2018 were associated with SSW. Similar heavy rain, snow, and wind conditions are predicted again. Normal temperatures can be predicted by satellite up to a week in advance, but SSW takes weeks to take effect. Not only is this a temporary phenomenon, but it is also likely to reverse.
