Dozens Trapped in South Africa as Deadly Building Collapse Strikes
Rescue operations are underway following a tragic incident in George, South Africa, where a multi-storey building under construction collapsed, resulting in three fatalities and leaving dozens trapped.
According to authorities, 24 individuals have been rescued and transported to hospitals, while 51 people remain trapped. CCTV footage captured the moment of the collapse, showing a cloud of dust engulfing the site. Rescue teams, including police and sniffer dogs, are diligently working to locate and assist those in need. Mayor Leon van Wyk emphasised the extensive and ongoing nature of the rescue efforts, anticipating they would continue throughout the night.
