Indian representation to the Galway Public Participation Network Secretariat

Galway: Indian representation to the Galway Public Participation Network (PPN) Secretariat in Ireland.

Ballinasloe social activist and organiser George Francis was elected to the Galway PPN Secretariat as a representative from the Social Inclusion Electoral Unit.

George Francis is the secretary of the Ballinasloe Badminton Club and a founding member and former president of the Ballinasloe Indian Cultural Community. George Francis is an Idukki (Kerala) native who works as a staff nurse.

Each PPN committee at county level has the task of formulating plans within Ireland’s decentralised planning system. The plans for the coming years are developed by strategic policy committees comprised of councillors and PPN representatives. Community groups and organisations must register with county-level PPNs in order to receive government grants.
