Long-awaited Snowfall…. Finally Blankets Dublin

Dublin: Residents woke up to a delightful surprise as the long-awaited snowfall blanketed the city, marking the first significant snowfall in a year without prior warning.

Throughout the night, the snowfall persisted, covering roads and cars with a thick layer of snow. Despite yellow snow alerts being issued in several neighbouring counties, including Cavan, Monaghan, Kildare, Longford, Westmeath, and Leitrim, Dublin had not anticipated the snowfall. The morning temperature in Dublin plummeted to minus 2 degrees Celsius, indicating the severity of the cold spell.

The Met Office has cautioned that snow accumulation may occur in certain areas and has urged drivers to exercise caution on the roads. Furthermore, the Meteorological Centre has issued warnings of continued severe cold and snowfall, expected to persist until Saturday morning.

As Ireland embraces the winter wonderland brought by the unexpected snow, it serves as a reminder of the importance of readiness for unpredictable weather conditions and the need for vigilance during travel.
