Roji P. Idicula (38), an Indian nurse, passed away in Ireland

Galway: Roji P. Idicula (38), a native of Pathanamthitta Kundera (Kerala), an Indian nurse of Galway Tuam, Ireland, passed away.
Roji, who had been undergoing treatment at Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital for many days, passed away yesterday at 6:30 pm.
He is the son of the late John Idicula and Rosamma Idicula of Pathanamthitta Kulanada Manthuka Puthuparambi (Valiwalail Roji Villa).
Wife Sneha, is a staff nurse at Stella Maris Nursing Home in Tuam. Evelyn (age 7) and Elsa (age 5) are students at Holy Trinity School.

He was admitted to Beaumount Hospital in Dublin for specialist treatment after it was found that the cause of the physical disturbances was bleeding in the brain. The intensive care unit provided expert care, but his life could not be saved. Continuous bleeding was the cause of death. Following his death, organs were donated in accordance with Roji’s wishes.

Roji’s family immigrated to Ireland four years ago. They were in Cork and started living in County Galway a year ago. The medical team informed relatives and friends that Roji, who was admitted to the hospital due to a brain illness, has little chance of returning to life. The wish of Roji’s loved ones to keep his memory alive and donate as many of his organs as possible after his death will give a new lease of life to a few others.

Three months ago, mother Rosamma Idicula came to Ireland to visit her only son, Roji, and his family. Roji’s family and friends have been unable to accept his untimely death while he was happy. The family has decided to cremate Roji, a parishioner of Manthalir St. George Orthodox Church in Pathanamthitta (Kerala). Various organisations are collaborating to bring the deceased body to the country and complete the procedures. A public visit will be held in Galway, Ireland.

Roji P. Idicula was one of the main organisers of the Pathanamthitta, (Kerala) region of UNA, a nurses organisation in Kerala.
A member of the Galway Indian Orthodox Church, Roji was an active presence in all the activities of the Indian community in Tuam. Galway St.Elijah Indian Orthodox Church expressed its condolences on the untimely death of Roji.
The Irish Samachar English News Editorial Board also condoles the death of Roji P. Idicula, along with all Indians in Ireland.
