Beware of ALEX!, warns Met Éireann

Met Éireann has warned of possible storms in the country in the coming days. The French Met Office named the storm Alex.

Heavy rains and winds are expected in France, Britain and Ireland.

The storm will affect France from Thursday night to Friday morning. Meanwhile, strong wind is expected to reach the southern coast of Ireland.

Met Éireann says sky will be clear in Ireland on Saturday morning, but rain and wind from the northeast are expected to hit Ireland during the day. Heavy rain can be expected by midnight and there is a possibility of flooding with heavy rains.

Northwesterly winds are likely to blow moderately along the coast, but they will strengthen along the coast, Met Éireann said.

On Sunday, the meteorologist said that the rainfall would be less and it would be limited to Munster and South Leinster. However, strong winds are expected in the northern parts of the state.
