Masked Protesters Gather Outside Taoiseach Simon Harris’s Family Home
Dublin: On Friday, a small group of masked protesters gathered outside Taoiseach Simon Harris’s family home in Greystones, Co. Wicklow, to demand border closures and mass deportations. Some demonstrators carried Irish flags and made references to the COVID-19 vaccine. Gardaí responded promptly, instructing the group to leave, which they did after a brief interaction. A Garda spokesperson confirmed the incident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. and lasted only a few minutes. Mr. Harris’s office has not commented on the matter. This follows a similar incident in early May, where a group gathered outside his home with banners advocating for prioritising housing for Irish citizens and criticising EU influence. Mr. Harris has previously expressed his firm belief that family homes should be off-limits for protests, regardless of the political affiliation of the individuals involved.
