“Tom Hardy Returns in ‘Venom: The Last Dance’—Hitting Theatres Exclusively This October”

Tom Hardy is set to reprise his role as Venom in “Venom: The Last Dance,” the final installment of his six-year tenure as the Marvel anti-hero. In this latest film, Hardy returns as Eddie Brock, the journalist who merges with an alien symbiote to become Venom.

Hardy, who contributed to the story for both “The Last Dance” and its predecessor, “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” (2021), takes a proactive role in the franchise. Kelly Marcel, his frequent collaborator, directs this installment, which releases on October 25. The first film, “Venom” (2018), was a box office hit, grossing $856.1 million globally, followed by “Let There Be Carnage,” which earned $506.8 million despite pandemic challenges and a declining superhero film market.

Sony has seen Hardy’s Venom films as standout successes in its effort to develop a cinematic universe around Spider-Man-related characters. However, other entries, like “Morbius” (2022) and “Madame Web” (2023), have underperformed. “The Last Dance” will gauge ongoing interest in the franchise amidst the broader struggles of big-budget superhero movies. The cast also features Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Another Sony film, “Kraven the Hunter,” is set to release shortly after on December 13.
